Circuit Ricardo Tormo – Lap times
About the circuit
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, is a permanent motorsport race track located in Cheste, near Valencia, Spain. Opened on 19 September 1999, the track was named in honour of two-time 50cc motorcycle world champion Ricardo Tormo, whose promising career was ended by a serious accident in 1984.
The track has a capacity of 120,000 spectators, with 60,000 seats available. The 4.005-kilometre (2.48 mi) circuit is run anti-clockwise and includes five right-hand and eight left-hand turns, as well as a 650-metre (2,130 ft) start-finish straight.
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo is known for its "stadium"-like atmosphere, which allows spectators a comprehensive view of the entire track from almost any point. Since its opening, it has been a staple on the MotoGP calendar and often hosts the season finale. In addition, the track is often used by Formula 1 teams for testing due to its mild climate in winter.
In 2024, the Circuit Ricardo Tormo celebrated its 25th anniversary with a series of motorsport events, including the NAPA Racing Weekend and the FIA Motorsport Games. These events attracted numerous drivers and fans and cemented the circuit's reputation as a major motorsport hub.
