Lausitzring

The Lausitzring, also known as EuroSpeedway Lausitz, is a versatile motorsport race track located near Klettwitz, Brandenburg, about 20 kilometers south of Cottbus. It opened in 2000 and quickly established itself as one of the most important race tracks in Germany. With a total length of 3.478 kilometers and 14 corners, the Lausitzring offers a technical layout that is suitable for both cars and motorcycles. The track is characterized by its fast but also challenging mix of fast corners, chicanes and wide straights, making it an exciting venue for motorsport events.

The Lausitzring has hosted a variety of international events in its history, including races in the DTM (German Touring Car Masters), the MotoGP and various endurance races. The track became particularly well-known through the MotoGP, which took place here regularly from 2001 to 2007. The Lausitzring also had a permanent role in the DTM until the number of races there decreased in recent years. But despite these changes, the track has not lost its importance and remains an important venue for national and international motorsport events.

The track has a modern infrastructure that meets the highest requirements for large events. This includes a large grandstand for spectators, a pit area and numerous VIP and service facilities. The Lausitzring is also used for private track days and training sessions, making it a popular destination for motorsport enthusiasts. The unique circuit, which is characterized by its varied geometry and high level of safety equipment, ensures that drivers and teams always get their money's worth.

Racing at the Lausitzring is characterized by its exciting atmosphere and the beautiful landscape surrounded by forests. Even though the track is no longer regularly featured in the top racing series, the Lausitzring remains a fascinating place where motorsport history was made and still attracts many fans and participants.
