Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello – Lap times
About the circuit
The Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, also known as the Mugello Circuit, is a 5.245 km long motorsport racing circuit in the Italian municipality of Scarperia e San Piero in Mugello, north of Florence. The track belongs to Ferrari and is currently used for the Italian Grand Prix in the Motorcycle World Championship as well as some DTM races. It also often serves as a test track for Formula 1 teams, especially Ferrari.
The circuit was put into operation on June 23, 1974 and forms the basis for today's race track. As part of the 2020 Formula 1 season, the Tuscan Grand Prix took place in Mugello for the first time. This race was subsequently added to the calendar due to the COVID-19 pandemic and marked the 1000th Formula 1 race for Scuderia Ferrari, which also took over the naming sponsorship. Unfortunately, a tragic accident occurred during qualifying for the race in 2021, in which Swiss Moto3 rider Jason Dupasquier was fatally injured.
Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello in Scarperia e San Piero, Italy is 5'245 m long and features 6 left-hand and 9 right-hand corners. The track is a popular destination for track days and circuit training in the region.
